Open Exhibition 2010

Two prints are on show in the exhibition this year, open to the public now until April 18, 2010. The prints are "The Mighty Oak" (Exhibit No 117 - sold) and "Dark Water Clash" (Exhibit No 356). Both have qualities which do not come across on the internet, so Lynne is pleased the prints themselves are on view at this prestigious gallery.

This year, the exhibition has been split over different galleries to previous arrangments. Exhibit numbers 1 to 179 are in gallery room 4 to the left of the cafe, while the remainders are in the usual gallery rooms 8 and 9.

Other prints in the above two editions are available at other locations at present.

Open Exhibition 2009

Both limited edition original prints Lynne submitted to Ferens Open '09 were selected for the show. Ferens public art gallery, Hull, often receives around 1,500 artworks from artists, both professional and amateur, for it's annual open exhibition. From these, approximately only 23% are selected for display. It is hardly surprising then, that very few artists have more than one artwork accepted. An artist's works must demonstrate a great deal of merit against such fierce competition in order to get in at all.

In 2009's Open Lynne was one of only 48 artists to have two artworks selected, out of 194 artists represented at the show. The two limited edition original prints put forward, accepted and shown in the exhibition were (Circled above): "Voyages" (Exhibit No: 233) and "Headland" (Exhibit No: 188 - sold).

Ferens Open Exhibition 2008

2008 was the first time Lynne submitted work to Ferens Open.

Lynne had concentrated on preparing work for the 2008 East Coast Open, a biannual exhibition coinciding with the Ferens Open. Her first collection of prints was at the design stage at the time, so she had very little art available for a second submission, but felt the experience would be valuable. It was therefore, especially pleasing to have a painting accepted at this prestigious and competitive show.
